What to say on social media
Writer’s block is all too common for marketers that have developed a posting schedule. Now, the pressure is on whenever that deadline is fast approaching. It can be difficult to not only come up with a great post but to continuously come up with great posts.
It’s difficult because you want to be different. You want your posts to receive some engagement, you want it to start a conversation. So how do you that? What do you say on social media that will stop people in their tracks and prevent them from scrolling by?
Well here are some ideas to help you get rid of your writer’s block and come up with some great content.
Read Content That You Love And Stay Inspired
A great way to come up with content is through looking at other pages, and other businesses that post content to help get you inspired. That doesn’t mean copy their content, rather find things that they’re doing right and incorporate it into your marketing strategy.
Are they asking questions? Are they running polls? See what they’re doing to get the engagement that you’re looking for. Remember people like to feel involved, so questions and polls are a great way to receive engagement.
You’re Allowed To Be Informal, Show Your Humour
Some businesses fall into the trap of believing that they need to be formal and professional all the time. That isn’t necessarily true. Some new brands are growing because of their reluctance to write boring and formal copy.
Show some behind the scenes footage of you and your company having fun and laughing while creating. Share some memes that relate to your post. People love memes and when scrolling they are more likely to stop and engage with those posts.
Have fun with it, don’t get dragged down too much by the formalities.
Showcase Your Expertise With Tips
Remember the point of your business. You’re successful in your industry because you have sufficient knowledge of your niche. Don’t hold anything back, share all of your knowledge with your connections, and those you hope will become connections.
Write some tips on how to perform a project more safely, or how to do something in less time. Show people something that they don’t already know about your industry, and help them. People love tips, especially if it can save them time and money
Stories Are Important And Will Help Personalize Your Brand
Tell a story. It sounds simple because it is. People are drawn to stories. So tell them a story that includes a real-life experience with one of your products. How your product helped save the day. Write a beginning, middle, and end. People are drawn to stories so give them a good one.
Coming up with good posts can be difficult but remember one thing. You’re trying to get people to engage. So write something that appeals to them, and let them participate. When they do, make sure to respond back. It’s a two-way street.
